Tried various methods, stick, waggler and feeder but not a single bite. Plenty of salmon activity above the toll bridge.

Fished the opposite bank downstream on a slow glide. Not many obvious pegs but found two. Started on bolo float and after a few dace hooked first barbel on about 10lb. Started feeder fishing after lunch and had to wait to late in session for 2 more barbel to 7lb and 3 chub to 5lb. An enjoyable day further enhanced by warm welcome and excellent food provided by toll bridge owner Maggie.

River lowish and steady. Tried early and late for a barbel with no joy. The bulk of the day was spent trotting on the pin. Quiet in pool on left bank downstream of bridge, and on right bank upstream of bridge, but found a reasonable shoal of dace, small chub and occasional o.o.s. trout, fishing from the old bridge support on right bank, close in. Lovely, relaxed day in good company, and a good stretch if you are looking for reasonable access (not full disabled I would say) and facilities - toilets and cafe.

Plenty of small fish flashing their sides when looking upstream from bridge. Fished in opposite bank to toll station, alternating beteween trotted breadflake and sweetcorn and swimfed meat, boilies. Had a few takes on red krill boilie but nothing else. Whilst wading amazed at the number of small fish (mainly minnows) that gathered around my waders, they were so friendly that they were taking bread from my hand! Good access to banks but because of their steepness can be very slippery when wet.

Booked this stretch as a replacement for another date and venue as I was under the impression it was suitable for those with issues surrounding mobility. Unfortunately when I got there with my son we found that the only place that was vaguely fishable for me was directly under the bridge and would have involved going down a slope in damp conditions. I could not risk this and therefore we could not fish.
