Lovely beat with great access to river. Don't forget your 4x4 if you travel heavy.. Struggled to find the bigger fish with only 1 barbel being of any size and no sign of Monty for a tip. River looked good condition. Tried a number of swims and baits but was slow. This being said it looks prime habitat and have i have no doubt lots of fish reside here.
An enjoyable beat with acres of accessible water. Will return in autumn. Stayed at luckshall caravan park for few nights as base camp. Great park nice cafe there also and plenty of other fisherman there to tell how big the one was that got away!!

Fished 2 swims at the lower end of the fishery (below the last platform swim), had 3 small chub on the float and then switched to the feeder, initially had 4 small barbel under 3lbs but finished the session with 3 decent fish the best going 7lb 10oz. Lovely warm day with broken cloud cover, very good fishery.

I fished only the afternoon session but the river was in excellent condition after a difficult early season and this time the fish were more cooperative. I started in a favourite swim ,the bend, but no bites after 2 hours so went to the "Pot."Although quite tricky it was accessable and the fish came regularly to pellets.
This is a really excellent well maintained beat with different swims producing in different river conditions.Monty as always was very helpful and encouraging.

Weather good with some sunshine and the river level a bit higher than recently. As this beat was new to me I really appreciated meeting Monty who was kind enough to give me some useful tips and advice. Fished normal bottom barbell tactics and finished a very enjoyable day with three barbell to six pounds and four chub to five pounds netted.

Our first time on this beat and we had a really enjoyable day. We were met early by Monty and Robin and they were very helpful and full of useful advice. A genuine thank you to them for their time and assistance. The river was up a bit with a fair amount of debris coming through. Consequently we decided to fish the upper section and were rewarded with fish throughout the day. Fish came initially to pellet and feeder and then later to pellet and PVA bag and meat on the float. Biggest barbel was 7 pounds 4. We will definitely be back to try the other swims!

really tough hot and sunny day. Didn't fish till 10 ish so probably missed the best time. Only 2 barbel, both for my mate but biggest went nearly 9lb which was nice. Met Robin as we arrived and he was very helpful. Long time since ive blanked on the wye but a lovely stretch, and we were probably a bit lazy in not trying enough spots after a days fishing the day before and a long evening in the pub.
