A steady trickle of pale olives came down all day and the fish were feeding well on them but I failed to raise one to my CDC Emerger (I had left all all my other dries at home). A change of tactics to a beaded nymph in a deep run brought me the fish of the day, a stunning fish of 18 inches. A lovely beat with plenty of fish but I wish I could have connected with those on the top!
