Fly fishing, nymph and wet fly. Catch and release. High water.

Lovely morning fishing with some rain but unfortunately, apart from sighting a very large brown trout, I caught nothing.
Will be back to try again. Ollie

Wash off, sadly. We had couple hours of clear water then 2ft rise in space of minutes, difficult to wade and fish for. Called a day. Still managed to catch a pair of nice trouts.

2 trout caught and released. Fished with dry fly all the evening with very little surface activity.

Water a bit lower than I usually fish this beat at, but running clear. A few fish rising as I started so went for the dry fly which produced 4 smallish fish. In the afternoon I decided to fish Czech nymph style that brought 3 lovely 18" fish to the net from the fast deeper water with many missed and plenty of heavy nymphs lost. Good day.

Took local advice. Still caught 0.

Nice beat, lower half best for trout. Low water meant very hard not to spook fish, which are very tricky to catch!

Nymphing (Czech/French). Fish mostly caught in fast moving water. River appears a little coloured but not much. What colour there was had passed by midday.

River had a nice bit of colour, hard sun on the water for most of the day but clouded over late afternoon, so no excuse for failure to land anything. Masses of fly life but no sign of any sizeable fish rising. Hooked two trout, lost both. Ho hum!

All fish between 8" and 16" taken with heavy nymphs. No fish rising river in perfect condition.
