Bright sunlight, light to medium breeze. Water clear and quite low throughout the beat. Fished from 13:00 to last light, dry only. No bites although fish were rising towards the end of the session.

A surprisingly good evening rise, from about 9pm to 10.30pm, and hatch of BWO's (?) at about 9.30. 4 trout to 16" on CDC dun (18) and, later, elk hair caddis (16). Exciting battle with 16-incher (just under 2 pounds), which proved to have been hooked in the chin.

First time on this beat. Plenty of water. Some deep tricky wading esp in fast runs. Really beautiful beat. Rose several fish but they weren't interested much in mayflies.

Fished from about 10am to 2pm. Saw one fish rise in the four hours but managed to catch a brown trout (approx 25cm) with a stone fly nymph in one of the runs down towards the tail end of the beat.
