Just me fishing. River looked rather low for spring, despite rain a few days ago? Made for tricky fishing in the daytime with clear water and sunny conditions - trout very spooky. Very few mayflies hatching today, but there were quite a few midges, some very small sedges and a few spinners - managed to get three on small dry flies (missed a few more bites especially from the small ones!), the other came on a nymph. Three biggest were 12-13" fish, all returned as usual. Lots of sand martins back, lovely to see. On the negative side - masses of Himalayan Balsam and Japanese knotweed shooting up again everywhere along the east bank!

Tough day. Very sporadic hatches and wary fish throughout the day. Came alive in the late afternoon though once the wind dropped, although I didn’t- missing or losing 6 fish on dries- a stinker!

Dries and Nymphs fished NZ style.

very quiet. very few fish rising.

Two good fish lost!
Sunny intervals, low and clear water. No sign of a hatch, so persevered with nymphs.

Cold, river low and a rudimentary hatch of olives...only a couple of fish rose to them

Tough day on this short beat with low water. Had couple of hard won fish from the deeper spots.

No Catch today. Seen LDO and yellow dun hatches at around 1300hrs.

blanked - very brief hatch LDO's at 11am fish very spooky. rescued a lamb from the river. only 2 or 3 MB's
