Very warm and sunny with huge hatches during the day. Windy conditions made it challenging but managed multiple very small brownies and one of around 1lb on dry fly and 2 decent grayling (1 on nymph).

today was a very poor day... Yes, it was bright and sunny which fish don't don't like and very windy (upstream of course), but there was no hatch of fly and no sign of rising fish. My day is usually filled with my incompetence in having takes which I fail to capitalise on, but not today. There were almost no takes. I caught a couple of small trout, and again, there was no sign of salmon.

This was a surprisingly poor day. I usually find that overcast and stormy conditions can lead to hatches of fly and general activity. Sadly this didn't happen. There were a few yellow Mayflies, (not yellow May Duns) and I saw 2 large trout porpoising. No sign of salmon though. I really thought that after the rain in June fish would have been brought to the upper reaches. I've seen just one salmon this year, and that was on the Usk.

Water was a little higher than the last time I fished after all the rains we've had recently. Still managed to have a great day but had to work hard against the current haha!
Also managed to catch a decent sized chub which was a strange surprise.
As always, the PTN a great choice on this river when fished correctly and anything with a touch of pink jiggled a bit sends the grayling mad.

Thanks again W&UF, I still can't believe the access to great fishing you guys provide for such a reasonable budget.

First time on this beat. Water level seemed to be pretty good but no salmon bite. 5 trouts and 1 small sea trout while fishing for salmon and 5 more brownies in the evening.
