This was our second visit to this pool, the water level was noticeably lower this time and with bright sun and very little wind we were up against it. We shared the field with some curiously lage male sheep who kept us company most of the day.
Although very successful last time, boilies brought nothing at all this time with very little sign of fish and only the occasional fish rolling over on the far bank you cant fish from (typically) My normally fish repellant brother saved the day with a couple of small commons taken literally two feet from the bank on pepperami and 30 year old tackle. Me? I only caught the sun but that didnt deter a great day. We'll be back.

Strong southerly wind all day brought 3 common carp to the net with the largest around 11lb and afew other large fish lost on the way. Several at about 1lb to sweetcorn and meat, plus one tiny mirror carp.

This was an introduction to carp fishing for my two young nephews and a return to it for me after at least 25 years! It was a blisteringly hot day and my first visit to this very nice location.
Bites were hard to come by but we stuck to float-fished sweetcorn and luncheon meat close in. Two small carp were landed and several other takes from larger fish missed, lightning fast in the shallow water.
A good day enjoyed by all.

Lovely secluded lake with easy access, although it’s a bit of a scramble over electric fences and under barbed wire to get to some areas.
Four hard fighting carp caught, including three good doubles with the largest just over 17lbs, and I lost a few as well. Very exciting fishing, big tail patterns around my float fished luncheon meat in the margins, and big heads popping up for my dog biscuits. I will be back!

Just a 2 1/2 hour spell today. 2 carp to 10/12lb on float fished sweetcorn in about 12" of water.
No time to find out if there was a deeper spot. Maybe next time.

Decided due to recent weather to do a bit of carp fishing, so dusted off the old gear, didn't hold out a lot of hope as it had rained consistently, ironically non stop since the day I booked !

Nice sized pool but as mentioned before only the three pegs available, access to any more of the available parts of the lake are restricted by electric fences etc. Anyway, parked behind the pegs which is always a blessing when you are carrying a lot of gear (fly fishing requires a rod, a jacket and a net, carp fishing means you take the entire contents of a tackle shop of which 80 percent you don't use !) First fish came within an hour around the 5/6 lb. mark followed by two larger carp spread out over the rest of the day, also lost two fish as my reaction time is getting slower as I get older, don't know wether the fish here feed in cycles or the catches coincided with the weather turning overcast each time.

Overall a thoroughly enjoyable day at a very picturesque and quiet water, will be back very very soon !

2 carp between 10 and 15 lb. Both had extensive spawning marks and blotches all over the body.

A cold start with an easterly wind made for a slow start, only fished until 1pm. Day was saved by a fin perfect carp mid morning, in great condition. Beautiful location with skylarks and sand martins flying over, great access though could do with a bit of clearing to open up a few more swims. Will definitely be back.
