Water very churned up, chocolate in colour and current was very strong, obviously due to the recent rain.
Saw nothing rising when I arrived (11:30am) and that was pretty much how it stayed all day, I left just before 7pm. Managed to get two out on a Hares Ear nymph, one with gold bead and one without, I was even more impressed as I had tied the flies myself and was convinced they probably wouldn’t work . 1st was about 8 inches and second about 12. Both were caught early/ mid afternoon.
Sadly not all the best is accessible, the path is no longer there which effectively cuts the best in half. I have emailed the office about this and hopefully it can be rectified for next season
Would definitely fish the beat again but once the whole beat is accessible

River very clear , medium height. Temperature - max 17 degrees C, with cooling wind from the north. Occassionally gusty.
Fished 11am - 3.30pm. A few sporadic rises but nothing significant. Two WBT (2x10oz) caught and returned - GRHE.
Lovely beat.

One superb condition Salmon (8-10lb) seen in Salmon Pool around 3pm.

Very helpful service from Passport office when I was unable to find padlock code on the instructions. (It's on the map, not on the written directions - silly me!)

River was looking good. 0.46 on the Usk guage and rising slowly but still pretty clear. Had a really good tug in the salmon pool and moved a coloured fish lower down under the trees towards the corner pool. Nice bit of water for few hours fishing.

Water level 0.350 at Usk gauge and a bit coloured. First time in Llwyn Corner for me. Although the beat is around 1/2 mile in length I could only really fish about 200m of water with the fly for salmon which was the Salmon Pool and a little above and below. If trout fishing you would have around 300m with some nice dry fly water above the Salmon pool. I walked the whole beat and although there is more good fly water it appears to be only accessable and fishable from the opposite bank with no wadable access from Llwyn Corner. The opposite bank has access to the Salmon pool so I can imagine things could be a bit crowded if someone was fishing from that bank. On the plus side there are loads of trout and a couple of salmon were showing. If you're happy to fish the same pool several times It's not a bad bit of water. Parking is very close to the river and the sheep are very friendly.

Very hot, very bright and sunny. Probably the weather for sitting under a tree in the shade with something nice to drink and watch the sandmartins perform their stunning acrobatics rather than fishing. There were at a guess thirty to forty of them wheeling, darting and looking as though they were playing 'tag'. The river was very low and slow and I surprised myself by catching a halfpound brown trout in the streamy water and which was safely returned. Very pretty stretch of river. The top half is a very easy wade.

Blanked on a rather chilly evening. Plenty of fish rising in calm water, though I think mostly small ones.
