NT car park was full so couldn't fish the road side. Parked at the campsite and followed the boards walk / track through the woods towards the western end near the stream that joins the Llyn. Fished daddy hogs and wets, had a couple of takes but missed them.

Would like to hire a boat next time, not sure if an electric outboard is allowed though. Lovely venue but would be handy to get a better idea of spot for bank access. Campsite end was very busy with swimmers, paddleboards and inflatible boats.

3 pan-sized ( although returned) trout on trad. patterns. Various fished but all taken on Welsh patterns - Haul y Gwynt (2) and the other took Y Llew Bach. It was indeed sunny and windy!

One trout taken on a perdigon, a few scattered rises spotted. Walked all the way to the lake - stunning day despite the scarcity of fish.

Sadly a bit of a tough day and whilst we all have these from time to time, it really was not helped by the fact the boat we hired to fish this large Llyn was full of water on arrival. There were two broken buckets with holes in them which left only a small bucket for bailing. Notwithstanding there was a small bucket, I had not expected and do not think I should be bailing a hired boat out before use. We were reimbursed but that's not the point. Disappointing.

Fished llyn cwellyn for a few hours. Spectacular location. The llyn is gin clear and was full of pretty golden fish from 8 to 11 inches. Bank fishing is easy on the road side, with good wading. (You must use NP carpark which is £6 a day) After fishing Cwellyn we tried llynnau cwm silyn. Walk about 40 minutes up the track. These lakes are located under a towering crag, like something out of 'Lord of the Rings'. The upper llyn is hard to fish being shallow in parts and water is almost transparent. Some fish seen and lost here (appeared very small) the lower llyn was more productive, a number of fish 7 to 11 inches caught. This llyn is deeper in the margins and seemed less sterile with weed which held fish close to drop offs. Great day out.

Absolutely zero fish surfacing for food. I imagine it is to do with the 30 degrees Celsius that it was on the day.
