Bright day, river clearing, caught all barbel on pellet, chub caught on meat, shame this beat is only available for a short time...thanks for the access

1 Barbel

Beautiful day out, autumn colours everywhere, bit of sun, very light breeze. Just brilliant.
Found a great place on the left side bank, close to the parking. Was rather steep and not ideal for my 10yr old to go down.
Settled on the right hand side instead where gravel beaches were much safer to get to the water.
River level pretty low, but fast. 90gr feeders don't hold bottom.
Tried maggot, robin red pellet, luncheon meat
Tried the float as well
Nothing showed. No bites. Nothing.

Great day on the river. Not for the feint hearted. Lots of walking. But we persevered & found fish. Barbel to 8lb. And some.really big chub. Limited swims. All on the feeder.

All fish to pellet feeder. Limited swims as much of the water is shallow

This was a new beat for us, and we decided to fish on the Pencraig side, which would benefit from some swim maintenance and perhaps a few more swims for anglers. The route directions were good and parking adequate.

A lovely overcast day, but bites were hard to come by, even though we managed a few. Most fish came to GB pellet and feeder with meat, a couple to pellet or maggot. Chub ranged up to around 4.8, the barbel were 4-5lb and the trout was a small sea trout!

River was low and clear, caught all fish on meat and pellet

3 Barbel, 6 Chub

Used method feeders and halibut pellet o's. Fast flowing river, overcast around 13 °.

6 Barbel, 4 Chub

Excellent day out. 4 fish in an hour 11 to 12, almost one a cast. All 6 to 8 lbs. One in the afternoon which was the biggest pushing 10 pound and took me 15 minutes to land. One small chub to finish.
