Didn't fish. Access to swims a bit too tricky for me. Time catching up with my old bones!

Tough day in bright sunshine. 3 barbel to 7.13 and 2 chub.

3 Barbel, 2 Chub

All from one swim.
All caught on 12m Red Robin pellets.
Nice easy access to a swim just short walk through the woods just past the parking area.

Five Barbel and one lost, three came in a hectic half hour either side of 6pm.

A combination of river still up a bit and pushing through and very slippery banks restricting the number of fishable swims made it a very tough day for two Chub between us although not through want of trying. Once again Big Nige showed us how it's done(We suspect he's sold his soul down at the crossroads)!!!

very difficult to get near the water , no access, some small barble and a couple of decent chub

River dropping through out the day. All the fish were from one swim. On Red Robin pellets.
Right hand bank almost in accessible to get to the river. Left bank easier.

We had been advised to leave the adjacent fishery the day before, due to flooding, and a forecast of another meter of water expected, so decided not to fish

First time on beat,tried right bank at first .Good access and directions but accessible swims at bottom end of beat and my buckaroo days are in the past. Walked the length of the beat and spotted an opposite bank swim that looked good. Didn’t realise Goodrich left hand side is Middle Hill Court upper end.???? When eventually got to swim, IMPRESSED !! Strimmed off , steps cut into bank, even straw scattered on bank!! Great day all barbel not a single chub! Three proper ones , a couple of barblets ..may even had a double figure day.. can’t remember. Fished a mixture of baits all day and only caught on one obscure bait… weird!

9 Barbel

Good day, tried upstream right hand side bank at first, good access and directions. Walked the length of the stretch, river pushing through. Only swims at bottom accessible/fishable. My Buckaroo days are behind me, but spotted swim on other side so tracked over to there.Half hour later..... Being dull didn't realise its the top section of MHC, dooohhh!!
Well , the swim had been strimmed, steps cut in, large , flat area over laid with straw. IMPRESSED!!!!!
Had a great day, for me anyway, three proper barbel, some beautiful miniature torpedoes(barblets). ....and a couple of mediums. It may even had been a double figures day...if I could count. Strangely not a chub all day.....go figure??? Tried a few baits but only caught on one strange concoction, only on a lead not on a a feeder??
Fishing is ......a funny old game...love it!!
