Concentrated on the faster parts of the river, trotting meat. Chub very obliging. Gave up counting after 15. A few barbel spotted flashing and a salmon leaping periodically. Very hot day but a good days fishing.

River high & coloured but falling. Fished the inside slack on pylon bend & lugg mouth. My only options given the conditions. Using pellet & meat. Just the one barbel . But the chub didn’t disappoint. Just nice to be on the river.

River was high and fast flowing with colour !! Fished at up stream limit of the beat with feeder and halibut pellet and luncheon meat. Caught 2 good barbel and some nice chub. River so fast it was difficult to keep bait in deep water.

Difficult day with the river on a steep rise , lovely stretch with plenty of good access . Tried roving tactics , fishing all of the available stretch . Managed 3 chub which fell to luncheon meat biggest about 3 lb .

First time fishing this beat and really impressed. Good access if driving to hut and plenty of lovely swims. I went down to Pylon/Luggsmouth area and had 4 good chub, mate fished on a croy near hut and had chublets trotting and 9-4 barbel on feeder. Not too bad in very difficult conditions. Will definitely be back though.

- Good directions, and gate open on arrival so easy to get in and out off the road - managed to drive round the two sides of the field in a non-4WD car but only because the field had been harvested; the track would have been far too rutted for a normal car if this was not the case even in the dry (probably doable with a 4WD and good clearance). Able to park right on the beat, and there was space to turn round at the end of the track.
- Easy access to the river itself to get into the spots - you can walk along the edge of the river on an often concrete path.
- Very low, clear water.
- No luck further upstream off the croys, but did better down on the pylon stretch above and at the mouth of the Lugg.
Mixture of trotting down and feeder, with most fish caught on float with meat.
- For two rods: 28 chub with a good number between 3lb and 5lb. 2 eels.
- Lovely days fishing with not too many canoes, and a nice chat with the guide. Would certainly return.

No water, no weed so no fish. Swans are starving so we fed them instead
