River very low and clear, caught on bottom dropper nymph in a pool of deeper water, 2 other fish lost and 2 more ‘plucks’ on nymphs, tough going on a bright day.

1 to the net for W.H. from Craven Arms plus some snap offs due to dodgy fluorocarbon. Nice bright day but windy. Fish rising then moving on, not holding station.

Very strong downstream wind. River started at reasonable height and clarity but coloured up rapidly and was, basically, a waste of time after an hour or so. Left early - in a hailstorm! Suspect beat will be great in right conditions.

A good place to start would be at right at the main river bridge, but we found more fish rising from the upper end of the beat. After you cross the small metal pedestrian bridge at the end of the first field on the right bank, there are some deeper holes here with large fish crashing though sadly none were caught this time. Slightly further upstream there are good shallow runs with trout activity.
