Swims just above the bend were strimmed out today. 4 of the prime pegs only. Far end of the beat. Bracken was taking over. Go to the well worn spots. Deep hole below wires is best chance.

New beat so not sure of what to expect. It is for the start of the season very untouched and overgrown with 2 or maybe 3 at push available swims. River is lovely and deep in places. Saw lots of small fish jumping and surprised to catch a good chub at around 3lb completely out of the blue. Trip cut sort as after 3 days on the wye I was as per the last few years struggling with bad guts and nausea, I fish all over the country carping, river and sea and the wye is the only place thay makes me feel sick. Does make me wonder why I keep coming back, but I suppose its the wildlife and peacefulness.

Highlight of this beat was zero canoes and watching the mares with the foals in the end field.

This beat has a lot of potential and needs alot of foot traffic to create some swims. The river infront of the bridge looks good but is not part of the beat.

2 Chub

River same conditions as Friday fast flowing and murky. Weather cloudy but colder than the Friday. Fished the same method Luncheon Meat and had another 3 chub with myself finally catching my first river wye Chub and the biggest of the two days fishing which I kept reminding my son. My lad had 2 chub and 2 trout one of those was a nice size and in beautiful condition. one large barbel was lost unfortunately which if landed would have capped a nice two day session off.

2 Trout, 3 Chub
