First time fishing this beat on the recommendation of other anglers. Standard barbel fishing tactics. River was not fast running so light tackle worked. 4 barbel were in great condition one at 10lb, one 9lb 3oz & 2 others 6-7.5 not weighed. Fantastic day easy swims well worth the trip.

Swims just above the bend were strimmed out today. 4 of the prime pegs only. Far end of the beat. Bracken was taking over. Go to the well worn spots. Deep hole below wires is best chance.

Very little action so as not to blank went on float rod and trotted only tiny fish caught think the otter has had better luck judging by the scat everywhere another disappointing day
