Arrived early with -4 degree temperature. River was falling and looked great but the water was extremely cold. Fished all day in a swim I did well in 3 weeks ago but unfortunately not a single bite this time.
Need to keep an eye on temperatures in the future but it was still great being out by the river.

Rapidly rising river (easily over a metre) and prolonged rain throughout day, it was always going to be tough. Pace noticeably increased as did the volume of debris coming downstream, so very much confined to water close in, but even then, difficult to avoid the broil. Nothing under 5oz close to holding, so things were rather tricky. Eventually perseverance for one of us was finally rewarded with a Chub of about 2lbs, but that was it.
First time here. An impressive stretch with some good access. Will be keen to return in calmer, and less testing conditions.

River was up and over the croys but still very clear, there was meant to be four fishing again, but one still missing with man flu, DM and JM caught a decent Chub each early and called it a day due to work commitments. GW dug in the trenches hoping for more ,only to rewarded with three minnows. Hopefully get back next summer. Had a great few days thanks to the Wye and Usk.

River dropping and looking good, swims well maintained and plenty available unlike some other stretches fished on this visit. Well done Colin. Fishing hard and fish few and far between..

River was over the bank down the bottom of the beat so was very difficult to find any slack water, needless to say we struggled and lost loads of tackle, others were eels...
