Salmon of around 15lb took a boilie on the retrieve but broke the hooklength after a few minutes of fun. Lots of chub but barbel still not feeding in earnest.

Very high winds which made fishing difficult. Also fish hard to find and moved swims many times before eventually catching on pellets.

The river remained stubbornly low despite heavy rain in the previous few days and it was clear that some swims had taken a hammering judging by the muddy banks. We avoided those and by moving a few times on the middle section, we had enjoyable sport with 7 barbel to 7lb 3oz and 10 chub banked on pellet and feeder. Persistent rain came on in the afternoon and we finished at 7.00pm, damp but happy.

A very nice beat with lots of swims, all well looked after and not too far to walk. A big thanks to my fellow angler for giving up his swim when I was struggling to get a bite. All fish taken trotting the chub seem to be a good size. Will return next year thanks, for a very enjoyable day again.

After a late start on Tuesday me and the boy managed 4 barbel and three chub, all on pellet. Up and at 'em Wednesday. 14 barbel to 7lbs and 24 chub knocking the 5lb mark. The beat, as always was in great shape thanks to Colin the gillie.

River was the lowest I have seen it. Personally, I feel this beat is suited to coarse and not game. I was salmon fishing and caught nothing but my companion who was coarse fishing, had a nice barbel of about 10lb.

Not the river conditions we expected to meet when we looked at the weather forecast earlier in the week, what happened to the rain! We did have a salmon rod booked but with the river so low and quiet we both coarse fished, plenty of resident salmon about though. A very interesting bit of water, we did fish most of the beat to get a feel for it but no surprise all the fish came from the bottom. First time on a very well kept beat, will be back.

A really nice beat, looked after by Colin, the very helpful and understanding keeper (my fishing partner likened the manicured swims as slightly overgrown Tee boxes at his golf course) Superb! Fished all day, water levels had much needed rise with colour gratefully accepted. Moved a couple of times and caught in spells, mostly all on pellet/groundbait feeders. With the sunset along the river it doesn't get much better than this. Thanks WUF, your help, as always unrivaled.
