Excellent day spent with Colin the Ghillie learnt so much as a relative beginner to Salmon Fishing had one fish look at the fly and saw a bigger silver fish roll near the first croy by the hut but no fish on the bank. Probably down to my skills as the river was at a lovely level

Sharp drop in temperature overnight and bright sunny day may have put the barbel off. Tried a couple of swims and caught the chub in each of them best fish was 4lb 4oz. All caught on pellets.

Nice venue, this was my second time, will certainly be returning.

River dropping and getting clearer. Lack of weed doesn’t suit the barbel. Maybe the EA need to act regarding the pollution which seems to be the root cause of the problem. A sunny day but a chilly breeze.
