More chub than water, but barbel much harder to find than usual. Path to the bottom swims gets more treacherous on each visit!

Day 2 of our trip was a mirror of the first; fish not to be found in their usual spots, but moving around paid off. Better fish came from the slower and deeper sections at the top of the beat. NB: Great caution required on the path down to the bottom swims, which has been almost completely washed away by the winter floods - parts of it are extremely treacherous, so be careful!

River low and slightly coloured, with fish difficult to find in the usual spots. Torrential rain for much of the day made fishing tricky, but hard work and a lot of moving around eventually paid off.
