10 Barbel, 16 Chub

Arrived at 930am after breakfast at sainsburys (7am open) David and I decided to bait a few swims as the river was low and getting the fish feeding confidently was essential. It was great fishing from the word go, barbel and chub falling to both pellets and sweet boilies. When we stopped for lunch I decided to swap rods and set up my old mark1v split cane rod and see how it could handle a barbel, it was fantastic, fish were taking on the drop and the fight on the old rod was unreal. We kept moving from peg to peg to keep the fish feeding. The biggest barbel was just under 9lb and the biggest chub 5lb8oz another great day on this stretch. We will be back soon. A well kept stretch. Stayed at Hereford travelodge cheapish but no brekkie but next to sainsburys which does.

Crazy day on a fantastic beat most of the chub on the float plus one of the barbel (get in )
we both fished a number of swims and had fish from most thanks wuf

Rain had brought a small rise in the river level and a bit of colour. Plenty of chub bites but the barbel hard to find. Sweetcorn and pellets in conjunction with a feeder brought results.

Would you believe it, a rising river! Lovely to see and not a problem until it went a dark chocolate colour and large rafts of weed and debris came floating by. Still, great to be back on the river at a decent level and temperature.
