Despite very bright and clear conditions, floatfished pellet produced better results than previous day.

3 Barbel, 2 Chub

Lovely beat, with excellent access. Very bright and hot conditions, but still managed to winkle out a few good chub on mini boilies.

3 Chub

River low and very clear. Overcast but bright all day. Ledgered pellet, boilie, luncheon meat and sweetcorn. Only one missed bite late in the day.

9 Barbel, 3 Chub

Similar scenario to the previous day, with barbel starting to feed after 5pm. 3 caught, one lost, the best an immaculate 8lb 10oz. It's sad to see that 900m of the opposite bank has been leased to BAA on a cheap club ticket, resulting in a major increase in fishing pressure on this previously lightly fished stretch. Untouched river bank has now been carved out to make swims, and every day there are now multiple club anglers opposite. One chub I caught had the side of it's mouth hanging off - probably victim of a large barbed hook. Tragically, it's the sign of things to come. End of moan.

3 Barbel

A challenging day, due to the clear, low water conditions. Several chub (generally in lean and poor condition) caught during the day. After 6pm the barbel started to show interest, and caught 2 and lost one up to 9pm. The best was a well fed beauty of 8lb 14oz. Due to the clear water the barbel are bronze and dark this year, like a throw back to the good old day's on the Avon and Stour.

2 Barbel, 7 Chub

Arrived early to look at the shallows down past the bridge and all were a little too low and lots of weed. Decided on the second swim up from the bridge and had 3 chub and 3 barbel about three quarters of the way across in the deeper water. Towards the end of the day I tried the second swim in from the entrance near the tree and had another chub followed by a barbel. All chub were between 1 and 3 pounds (estimate) and the barbel up to 9.5. Found that the two that were around 7 and 8 fought the hardest. All caught on feeder and pellet.

4 Barbel, 4 Chub

Had a few nice fish near the bridge this beat now has a new club on the opposite bank BAA and must of had ten anglers fishing and it is expensive for a days fishing.

2 Trout, 5 Barbel, 3 Chub

First visit to this beautiful stretch of the Wye, with a trout of about 1lb being caught on a blue doctor fly from the far end of the beat.

No fish caught spinning with many types of spinner. Plenty of decent fish seen though.
