Hard going. Overnight cold weather had left the river very low and clear and didn't get much action until later on in the day despite covering much of the stretch and using a variety of methods. I hadn't realised that the beat has been shortened and no longer includes the Vanstone Pool or the top bend. That was a real disappointment as the swims just below the top bend had always been the ones that produced best for us in the past. Not sure I would book again on that basis.

All fish caught on feeder fished pellet from the deeper water at the top end, more snags present than I remember from previous sessions. River was low & clear, heavy rain in morning but sun did come out late afternoon always a pleasure to be on the Wye

8 Barbel, 1 Chub

River low but with a little colour. Fished the top section with Barbel and chub falling to pellet and meat. Weather warm with broken cloud. Nice beat
