Couldn't fault the weather again sunny but with a chilly N. breeze at times. River at a good height having dropped all the week. Still needed 4oz feeders because of the pace of the stream and had several fish during the day and also had a couple of hook pulls. Best barbel 7-12.

Best barbel 8.8 and chub of 4.2.
The last day of our 5 day visit-overall the fishing has been difficult, cold overnight, very bright all day and a dropping river following flood conditions.
However, the beautiful scenery and super weather (topped up the suntan) more than compensated for the lack of barbel.

A nice beat access to swims difficult due to the muddy wet banks some swims we didn’t attempt to fish in. But a very scenic beat with lots of wildlife all around. DW used a bait dropper loaded with meat fishing near the bank to catch 9 chub all around the 4lb mark.
DP caught a 7.5 lb Barbel ledgering. CS caught 3 chub to 4.5 lb and a Barbel of 6.5lb to halibut pellets and meat ledgering in the middle in the middle of the river.
Thanks Wye and Usk.

Arrived to find the river had burst its banks by the parking area, and coupled with yet more rain meant only one of the group fished.
One solitary Barbel caught on paste around a rod length out during the middle of the day. Six ounces of lead needed to combat the flow/weed/tree branches!
A very hard three days but we'll be back again next year, with hopefully a bit more luck on the weather front.
