Fantastic sunny day with perfect conditions, as the river was falling after rain. Lots of canoes, but none a problem. Fished the very top pool and caught a small, bent barbel (about 4lbs) and lost plenty of feeders. Then moved downstream, fishing a number of different swims and eventually found one where the barbel were feeding hard. I caught a fish almost every cast until dusk, mostly in the 5-8lb region.

A really tough day on very nice looking stretch of the Wye. The weather was much kinder to us than the predicted forecast inferred, but that didn't help the fishing unfortunately. We tried just about every swim on the beat but no bites were forthcoming until around 6pm when we saw the first fish. 2 caught and 3 lost (a couple of monsters), better luck next time!

One big chub bouncing meat down the faster water and my first ever barbel on a feeder. If it didn't go double figures, it wasnt far off! Very happy. Both taken on luncheon meat. Lovely beat but weather didn't allow a full exploration so I will definitely be back. Saw a few Salmon showing at the tail of Vanstone.

Best barbel was 8lbs 2ozs and the chub was 4lbs 8ozs. All fish were caught on pellet. Mixture of cloud and sun with a little light rain. River level was low. The end to a great 4 days fishing. Thanks to WUF for making these great fisheries available.

Very difficult day, river exceptionally low and clear. Fishing downstream was just about impossible so I restricted myself to the top of the beat and even there bank access was difficult. I fished in two shifts. Morning 7am - 11am nothing, then back at 3pm - 9pm where I managed to lose one but catch 2 barbel, 7lb and 9lb and a chub of 3lb. Fish took along time to recover before release and were obviously suffering from low oxygen in the water. The river needs rain and a good flush through.
