A very low River Monnow - some fishing rising but very difficult fishing

Very low water. Hardly any hatch. Caught the trout with a beetle pattern

Perfect evening conditions but absolutely nothing rising to the surface. Nil return.

Very low water which surprised me because of the rain we had recently. No fish showing but did see one from the bridge before I started fishing. Tough day not helped by two paddle boarders who proceeded to go swimming in every available bit of deep water back up to the bridge. Add in the joy of tripping over a sunken nylon rope strung across the river under the surface causing a headfirst ducking not a great day! Spent three hours but most of that was spent watching idiots on boards ruining any chances and cutting rope and drying out.
Won’t be returning for a while!!

8 Trout, 1 Grayling, 1 Chub

Fished dry. Water level low but still clear and good flow. Water temp 18 degrees. Occasional trout rising to surface. Nothing caught.

River low but not too warm, no fish taken caught on fly

Here on a holiday with the wife so only risked 4 hours fishing. Started at 5.30am. Was fishing the euro. Fish were in the fasted water.

3 Trout, 1 Grayling

Not much happening. Very few fish rising and they were mostly toddlers.. I did see one big trout in an inaccessible spot. The “trout” in the bridge pool turned out to be a chub! When the water is low like it is now, I’d advise minimal wading. I was using a small deer hair caddis but a nymph might have worked better.
