Great day fishing, all caught on brown hears ear, no dry fly action. All but one caught in the morning.

Wonderful sunny day with a gentle breeze. A few rises and a few mayfly hatching.
Caught a beautiful 7in WBT and returned.

Warmer day, up to 18oC and the water was still water coloured. A small hatch around 2-3pm and a few fish began to rise towards to the lower end of the beat. Lost a a few with 3 wbt landed, one on a weighted nymph, 2 on dry flies. Lovely beat, kingfisher seen and will be back. Thanks W&U.

Lovely day on the river. Saw my first fish rise of the season and managed to snaffle 3 wbt on the dry. Rises were few and far between so the nymph rod came out quite a lot and accounted for the other 3.

Apart from gusty winds in the afternoon (which were forecast) conditions were pretty perfect. The river wasn't as high as I had expected, you could still wade across it in several places, but it did have a good strong flow. Slight colouring to the water, air temp around 10-12 degrees. Disappointingly no Grayling, only two very healthy looking OOS WBT caught on nymph. Lovely first day of the year (for me) on the river.

It was 10.5C, which was warmer than a few weeks ago, however the wind which grew in strength as the day worn on was biting. Explored downstream a bit further and was rewarded by one tiny Grayling, however a fish is a fish!

Disappointing. I was looking forward to a day of Grayling fishing but due to heavy overnight rain (much more than I was expecting) the river was high, fast, brown and unfishable. I’d even popped over the day before (Thursday) to check conditions and it looked good… and Friday (today) was all set to be beautiful sunshine, so I booked. I took a short walk up and down and called it a day, at 9am! Next time.
