River looked good and so did the weather, fishing was a little harder today had to search out the bites as the usual areas seemed barren. Feeder fished pellet or corn got the bites, river rose fast in the afternoon and flooded me out of my swim! Still a great day on the wye shared with a great guy who faired better than me up the other end, good to meet you. Thanks w.u.f

All fished the float and all had a great morning but the river began to rise very rapidly from 2:00pm and we struggled in the afternoon. A fabulous stretch with decent access for the float fisherman. Many Thanks

My first visit to this beat. A short session 14.30 to 18.30, having taken some time to walk much of the bank. Started in deep water near the top of the beat, but after more than two hours had only a small chub and a large eel to show for my efforts (the eel, unusually, was lip hooked and managed to release itself in the net. It must have been well over 2lbs, but I was pleased to see it go!) I then moved to some faster water and had one barbel around six pounds and lost a good fish when the hook link parted on my last cast of the day. Disappointing, but worth another visit.

It would help newcomers to this beat if there were a sign as you enter the farmyard showing which way to go from there.

Struggled to get a bite for most of the day in the bright sunshine. Roved around quite a bit to no avail so decided to settle into a swim, get some bait out, and hope they started feeding in the evening. They did and for the last hour it was a bite a chuck. Biggest barbel was 9.5lb and the chub was over 4lb. Nice stretch, plenty of swims can be a bit noisy with the pump etc. and you do get fisherman on the other bank. One of my favourite stretches though and will definitely be returning.

Brilliant day. Good weather and perfect water conditions. Fished pellet and feeder all day and caught fish from 4 swims, smallest 1/2lb, largest 9lb. No issues. Access instructions for first time visitor needs a bit more detail given the various gates and electric fence barriers you have to navigate to reach the river. Thanks WUF.

WUF Note: Due to the nature of grazing livestock, electric fences will often move and so are difficult to mark on the maps. We always endeavour to keep the maps as accurate as possible so any feedback is appreciated.

Despite the rain during the week the river wasn’t really carrying any extra water, decided to start with casters for the first couple of hours but only caught small chub and dace. A switch to pellet and meat eventually got the barbel feeding around 1pm, caught 7 in total up to 8lb 13oz, an enjoyable days fishing.

Arrived for 2nd days fishing to find river had risen 6 to 8 inches overnight. CR fished shallow water along concrete walk way for 9 barbel mostly taken on corn. SB fished deeper water above the croys on the opposite bank for 8 barbel and 1 chub using feeder and pellet.
