Fished for a hour in the morning and a couple of hours in evening. Water in excellent condition for the high water catches. A big fish showed in the Bridge pool and a solid pull in the same pool left me wondering.

Brilliant couple of hours after a significant LDO hatch on Wednesday afternoon. Otherwise sporadic activity with nymphs. Fished hard for Salmon either side of rise to no avail but will return later in the summer.

Enjoyed an hour putting a heavy fly through the Rectory Pool - no luck. Hatch of LDO and other flies drifting down the river with just the odd rise. Good to be back on the river.

Used 'Klink and Dink' method.
Hard going, nothing rising despite a hatch.
The river was quite high and pushing through pretty hard so caution was required wading.
I tried all points along the beat, and varied the length to my nympth, as well as trying different nympths.
Still turned out to be a wonderful day - don't begrudge a penny!

River 2ft 2" and 5ft visibility; near perfect. Fished the morning and had a cock salmon of 19lbs on a #6 Bann shrimp from the top of Rock pool which now resides in Abercynrig hatchery. Fish showing in all pools fished and had another offer in the Gravel catch.
In evening the other rod had 2 more salmon from the Rock pool.

Had a go from 12pm until 5pm. Not much fun though, very wet and windy and river rose 4" while I was there. Clarity not great, just over a foot or so I would think. Did see 2 coloured 10 pounders in the top of the rock pool. Other points of interest were an otter working the Bridge Pool and a tailess (bob-tailed) fox working the far bank at the Gravel Catch and then sheltering by the dying Oak tree.

Water still very high & coloured, although we did give it a fish where the wading wasn't too dangerous; One small trout took a very large, heavy Alley Shrimp tube on a sink line. No salmon seen or caught.

15lbs cock fish from Mill Stream on a conehead Willie Gun, saw few other fish moving and had a good pull in tail of Rock pool. First time here and liked it from first glance. Beat with great potential in right conditions. Will be back to see it at its best. Thank you.
