I fished with a friend. The owner was very helpful in showing us where to fish and where wading was difficult. It is an interesting beat and will take more than one visit to appreciate its full potential. The water was just below 2 feet on the gauge on this beat so higher as a result of some heavy overnight rain which made wading more difficult if you do not know the river. No rain during the day. Fished with the fly, size 8
Stayed at the conveniently located Griffin Inn in Llyswen which met all our need and provided a pleasant base.

No salmon seen or touched. 6 inches of additional water would have helped, although I am sure the fish were there just in the deeper holding water.

We fished for an hour above the road bridge, never having used a flyrod before.
Didnt anticipate a result!
Sun came out and the casting was impressive.
Then we caught two fish!
