Despite low water, managed a number of trout to about 3/4 lb while salmon fishing, but lost a much larger fish mid afternoon. All taken [and lost] on a single, barbless hook, size 4 gold mepps.

With brilliant sunshine to enjoy I knew it would be a difficult days fishing even sharing the beat with a couple of Salmon anglers. Started under the bridge Czech nymphing with 2.5mm jig hooked flies. Not a lot of action even with a good flow coming down. Fished right up to the head of the run and picked up a nice 8/10 inch trout sitting in the slack water. Moved up passed the hut to the Gutter & picked a nice grayling on a jig hook. Even had a go on the dry fly and missed two takes. Nice to be out on such a nice day and able to fish more of this beat.

Again nothing to report. The river is visibly going down while we have been here for the last three days, rain is badly needed.

Blank for both of us, but a lovely way to spend a day.

Freezing cold with moderate wind. Many tea breaks taken. No salmon to be seen...tried everything. Only 1 trout about 1/2 kg on nymph.

Water perfect height, slightly tinged and 10 degrees c, with overcast sky.. However nothing caught; really pleasant afternoon none the less!
