Guided a gentleman – it was his first time fishing this beat. A very cold, strong NW wind all day – we did see an impressive MB hatch around 1pm, but the fish didn't switch onto them. My client managed 2 trout (both approx. 3/4lb) swinging spiders.

Cold and windy day, but there was a hatch of March Browns after midday when the sun came out. Eight fish caught on spiders, up to 16”.

Beautiful warm sunny morning with just enough cloud coming in to be promising. Nothing rising early on so fishing the bottom half of the beat with a streamer and duo. No takers. Some sporadic oncers in the main bridge dry fly flat from what seemed like decent fish, but very spooky and wasn’t good enough to get a rise to our flies. Some hatches of LDO’s and March Browns throughout the afternoon but didn’t see a rise outside the main bridge flat.
Nothing caught but lovely day out and river looked fantastic.

Beautiful section of the river and pretty good wading on the majority. Lovely hatches of March Browns from 11.30, on and off for over an hour. Large darks too. Managed only one and lost five. First day back and somewhat rusty and the fish acrobats !
Hope to return. Huge thanks to the other angler who kindly waited for me as he didn’t like to leave a woman angler on their own. Also opened and closed the gates so I could leave first. What a gentleman.

Perfect conditions if it wasn't for the cold, blustery, upstream wind. Good hatch of MB but with many missed opportunities.
Two Otters swam downstream, which was lovely to see. Great day but not many fish to show for it.
