Trout on march browns. brilliant!

Prolific hatches of olives all day but the trout were very reluctant to rise to them. Picked up a few fish by watching and waiting for the intermittent risers.

A few fish were showing, even fewer of them were interested in my nymph, and none made it to the net. River longing for some rain (which in got the following night.)

Low clear water, morning good on nymphs. Afternoon slow.
Missed 4 or 5 small trout taking flies on surface. Dry Fly was hard work.

Very sunny Easter Sunday. Plenty of walkers, picnickers and stone throwers out! Just found the small ones today. Best fish were a couple of 12-inchers.

In the morning I used nymphing techniques until a hatch developed in the afternoon where I switched to dry fly. An excellent day

Hopeless. 6 hours. Tried everything. No knocks, no follows, nothing. That's the second year in a row Dad has paid out for this beat. Very disappointed. I won't be coming back. Don't believe the hype.
