Fantastic day at a wonderful location, most fish caught on a pheasant tail nymph or dail Bach (not sure of that spelling) All fish were brownies average size about 9-10 inches, & in very good condition. Quite windy but we could comfortably fish the east bank. Would recommend this fishery if you like wild fishing, and peaceful location, we will be back sometime soon.

First foray at this idyllic wild lake , fished fifty yards either side of the boathouse from between midday and six in the evening , sporadic rises , and the fiesty little, famed Welsh black finned brown trout took my dry flies with splashy takes , quick as a flash , did manage to bank eleven beautiful trout and quickly released, caught on own home tied coch-y-bonddu dry variant , and tiny size 18 Adams , missed probably as many as I caught, was an excellent six hours, shall definitely be returning very soon to see how the evening rise goes. The track down to the boathouse was manageable by 4x4 truck , but probably a bit hairy for a car, with the clearance in places a bit risky. The booking office system is excellent, and Allyson is most helpful, many thanks

Bright day and only one fish landed with other wriggling off the hook beforehand. On a dry fly, fish took short.
Not as many trout rising as I would have expected for a spring afternoon.

Despite the rest of the country basking in sunshine, the day started with wind and rain. Another great day out, with 4 fish on the dry. Lots more came to the fly but did not contact. Usually this might mean fishing too heavy, but I was using size 16 flies and 3 lb leader.

2 Rods. Almost all taken on dry - caddis and black gnat. Average length 9 in best 11 in.
Great sport very fast fiesta fish probably had further 20+ offers and lost at net. Welsh black finned trout -they have some in the Natural History Museum- trutta nigripinnis. Also see Mr Beers article in T and S re WBF
Fished here before but 3 mile track in worse than ever. Boat house derelict it all looks. Whats going on at Tyn-y-Cornell hotel/ Tal-y-llyn ?
Perhaps W and U should buy the Fishing Rights this is a special place with a unique species of trout not a shad or mussel surely this should be a priority for funds for this but I suppose it needs a run of silver tourists?
If you haven't been its one to try.

Arrived at 2.30pm and had wonderful sunshine bit of clouds a strong wind to start which eased of to nothing as evening drew in. Lake looked lovely and had 16 Brownies all on the dry fly and used several types of my own tying but the fish didnt seem fussy! Mainly used a size 16 with a grizzle hackle trimmed underneath so fly layed down in surface better with a small bit of black mole dubbing as body.
Again drove down to the lake easily in my estate.
Evening rise was fantastic with fish rising continually for several hours and great fun with some. The biggest Brownie at just over 10inches.
Back next year without a doubt!

Bugeilyn fished well on Saturday morning, I had 8 fish to just over half a pound until I left at 11am. Temperature was about 12 degrees with a gusty wind, so only the right bank was really fishable. I was using a gold bead bibio on the point to fish a little deeper, then a B&P spider on the dropper and claret dabbler on the bob. Fish came to all three, with the latter taking the majority. Lots and lots of takes and lost a few fish as well, they're quite hard to hook properly, all fish returned.

Grey, overcast, wet and windy!! Were we put off? Not a bit of it. We had a great day on this remote Llyn and were rewarded with 19 fantastic black fin trout the largest to 12". Green flies were the order of the day with sub surface sport and an occasional rise during the very infrequent sunny spells. Wonderful venue and will return in the future.

Hard weekends fishing due to strong winds making most of the lake impossible to fish. Only fished the Saturday although we booked the Sunday too due to the weather. 4 fish caught in total all pretty small of about 3-4 inches. One caught on mayfly, two on a black gnat and one on a gold headed hairs ear.
