Brilliant morning at Beacons Resevoir what a beautiful place. arrived at 8am in torrential rain but the fish were enjoying the fresh influx of water and it wasnt long till I had a lovely Brown of about 1.5lb on my dry fly sedge pattern and a great cartwheeling scrap it gave as well.
Working my way round the shallow bays I managed to pick off 5 lovely Browns in total losing 2 and missing a couple of takes .
All on the dry fly using a single fly my own tied sedge pattern .
Nice average size with 3 over a 1lb .
Will be back soon

Blisteringly hot day with fairly strong wind veering between east and south. Mostly fished the top end where the streams come in. Eventually, netted two brown trout, one estimated at about 1.5 lbs and the other 0.66 lbs. Very satisfying given the conditions. Bibio variant (George Barron?) did the business. Access to top end - penultimate layby and walk down to water through the woods.

My first time fishing Beacons Reservoir. Had to work hard for my fish. Wind was gusting off the dam end and the high water levels made traversing the banks tricky in places where I couldn't wade. Good average size fish with the biggest around 1.5lbs. Great day out and will come again!

Hard work, wind all over the place. Wonderful water if you are happy with small fish you have to work for.

Water level quite high but managed to fish down by the dam wall. Biggest was about 12 oz. Said it before but a lovely water.
