One fished and had a memorable day. Got the chub going on the drop and had well over 20 in a couple of hours. These included a new PB of 5.4lb, soon upstaged by his mate at 5.5lb! Stayed all day but was fairly quiet either side of the frantic 2 hour window. But still, catching 100lb of fish in a day is just brilliant. One thing to mention, there is now a large herd of cows grazing in the first two fields. They're quite intimidating, especially when on your own on this otherwise beautiful beat.

Good day on lovely stretch. Fished half a dozen swims and caught in every one. Croy at upstream end produced all the barbel. We then slowly moved back to the start of the beat as we wanted to try out different spots. Chub were all a good size. Other was an eel.

Barbel caught first cast while morning mist still heavy. It then became a very hot, bright, and clear day and we struggled to locate any more barbel but had a few decent chub - biggest 4lb.

What a tough day! Just a few taps and no full on bites. I think (or hope) that it was the water temperature drop over night that put the fish off and not me being incompetent! It was certainly a whole different story to last week. Either way, I’ll be back out on the Wye next week…

Great to see more water. Visibility about 1.5 ft. All caught on cage feeder, largest barbel was 9lb 4. Slight interruption due to net breakage and had to go get another to be able to fish again. Great location , other was an Eel.
