One lovely barbel of 9lb 11 ounces on the method feeder and some chub trotting meat in the faster water. The river desperately needs some water. It is also gin clear so tough going. It was good to see some of the streamer week back.

Difficult day with the river so low and clear, all fish caught on the float.

The river was so low that we struggled to locate many fish... had to wait until dusk before the barbel materialised but managed to catch a few chub during the day so still an enjoyable session.

Tough going today, river extremely low and in need of some water. Fish did not seem interested but happy to go home with 1 barbel between us. Think we lost a barbel as well which was annoying.
Other was an eel which was a first for me.

Lovely day in the water. Couldn’t get a bite on the stick. Had to switch to the waggler.

We fished the Friday only. The river was very low. Five chub between us, all before 10am. After that we struggled to get a bite. The water was low enough for us to see the barbel and chub in front of us, and a large eel.

River so low and clear you could see the bottom across pretty much the entire length of the stretch. Very last minute decision to fish afternoon into evening and unsurprisingly it was tough going until the last couple of hours when there was plenty of action on the feeder and pellet. Best barbel was 8lb 4oz and chub around 4lb.

Lovely stretch of water but so warm. I caught two from lower end and five from top end of stretch . Fish were 3-4.5 lb. Great to see weed beds on top stretch were green.
