Difficult. Very few places where river was accessible. Finally found path down to a croy after about a half mile trek. Wasn't really suitable for two anglers, but was pretty much all that was on offer. Blanket weed made any kind of ledgering difficult, and so it was a case of wading and trotting. One nice Chub (near 4lb) and a small Dace landed. Large number of anglers on opposite bank (Aramstone?) also rather limited the water available. The pegs on that side were numerous and well maintained. This was by far and away the most limited Wye and Usk stretch I've fished. Wouldn't recommend to anyone with mobility issues and/or carrying more than a minimal amount of gear. Rather disappointing.

With the water temperature dropping we decided to fish while we were staying at Nature's nest, we caught early morning from just inside the gate on the third field after clearing the swim the night before, float fished in the faster water in the top field for a cracking day's fishing most fish fell to waggler and pellet and went to just under 5 pounds. Will definitely be back.

Spent a piecefull 4 hours on the wye while staying at the excellent Nature's Nest . Caught chub float fishing to a far bank fallen willow swim below the islands

More perishing chub bit boring no barbel?

Stayed at the Natures Nest at the Ballingham village end of the beat (fantastic place!) and just a short walk to the river. 6 chub from the end field first swim in the field, on float and feeder and a further 4 from the swim to the right of the concrete platform on float. Pellets used and pre baiting whilst moving between the swims worked for us

River in poor condition. Low levels and lots of weed. Most of the fishery is unfishable. Chiblets seen throughout but no barbel. Barely any bites on the tip.
