4 small Barbel. Late afternoon start and found little interest all round several spots from the railway stancions to 3 fields downstream [long old railway track parking behind padlocked gate].
Packed up when the rain came into dark, with nothing much of note on the wildlife front either. Desultory ? Nah, not in this lovely place!

I had to work quite hard for my fish and after lots of moves I ended the day with 5 barbel to 7lb and 3 chub to 4lb. My companion stuck it out in one swim all day and caught barbel to 8.25lb and a solitary chub. However, it was a lovely day and the threatened showers didn't materialise - so no complaints!

A great days fishing by the Old Bridge - 18 Barbel and 2 chub caught on a mixture of pellet and luncheon meat - best fish a barbel of 9lbs 2oz. However I think those steps seem to be getting higher every time I visit - especially when carting the gear back up to the car!

Fished with A J, arrived early, starting on Bridge Pool Area, these are accesible swims but require extending landing net pole to net fish. Both caught a few barbel and chub. Very quiet between 1100 and 1630 so had a good walk, not many obvious pegs so exploring and imagination required. Found a fishy spot that probably has never been tried and located a good shoal of Barbel late afternoon. Between us we caugh 34 Barbel and 5 chub.
Lovely strecth with secure parking. Pellet feeder was the order of the day. Enjoyed watching a Mink Hunt on the far bank. Thanks Wye and Usk.

What a lovely setting we found at the bottom of the 48 steps we had desended from our parking spot at the top of the disused railway bridge. After a look for swims we settled into two spots to the right of the bridge with great anticipation after reading about previous catches. But only one 6lb 8oz Barbel caught on a single elipse pellet early on was all we had to show between us for the day. Just one of those days I guess!

Slow to start with only chub showing an interest in the morning. Barbel started to appear in the afternoon. Finished on six barbel to 8lb 10oz, plus four chub to 4lbs.

We had a great day, the river was 3.5ft. We fished a few swims in the middle of beat. It was a waiting game for the barbel to respond. We fished with pellet and hemp in feeders. Really worked hard for our fish. We finished the day with 11 barbel between 6lbs to 9lbs and 10 big chub between 3lbs to over 5lbs. Excellent day. We will be back.

Nice water only fished for a few hours in the morning. 5 barbel, 3 to 7 pounds on pellets and meat. River a little high and fast fished close in. Good directions and service, thank you.
