River low and clear, on a bright sunny day. All fish caught legering meat and pellets in shallow channels in the prolific streamer weed. Watch out for the many swans, as they can easily fly into your line. Quite a few anglers on the opposite non WUF side, though they kept mainly to the bridge pools.

Another terrific looking section of the Wye. We fished upstream of the steps to the upper reaches of the beat which I have to say screamed barbel but we didn't even have a twitch so we settled into the swims either side of the railway pillars and had 10 barbel out to 8lbs.

Recent rain had slightly coloured the river but left it no higher/faster than normal low summer level. A barbel on the 1st cast was a false promise of what was to come and we struggled after that. Half a dozen swim changes - amidst the showers - in my case failed to produce even the obligatory 1st cast chub. A return to my original swim yielded 3 more barbel including a lovely fish close to 9lbs. My friend stuck it out in his original swim but with no more success.

River very low, needs some rain. Only two chub. Nice beat, the path along the old railway track needs a trim, the brambles can scratch the car. Will fish it again when there is a bit more water in the river thanks.

Water low and warm, lots of canoes, not many fish. The path to the parking area on the disused railway embankment is heavily overgrown and in need of a trim.
