Awesome beat, one of my favourites. Owner is super friendly. Barbel between 5 and 7lb and chub were all between 1lb and 4lb. Biggest fish came to rolling meat. Wildlife is exceptional.

Great kick start to the season. The work that has been put into preparing the swims is outstanding. Easy access and well kept. Fish taken on small cubes of garlic salt bacon grill from the bottom swim. Met a nice chap fishing also where there was some confusion over the Creel section. Might be a good idea for Creel to show better signage on both banks. Will definitely be returning soon!

Managed to catch my first ever Barbel, with my first cast of the day. Just under 7lb. The river was flying through and fishing in the middle was impossible. I managed to fish the slacks on 3 pegs , only manged to get one other bite the rest of the day. The sun was shining, it was an enjoyable day.

Only managed 2 hours this morning sadly. Lost a sizeable barbel mid morning but otherwise no bites. Water was like chocolate after heavy rains the day before so would suggest smelly baits for those fishing tomorrow..

Chub more obliging as river levels better. Bread and maggots on the hook with the same through the feeder was the successful method.

Missed as many bites as I managed to connect with. Cheese paste the most effective bait, fished close in, in the slacker water, sadly no barbel despite mild weather and good river colour/fliw.
Met the lovely and enthusiastic owners who have plans to further improve bankside access for next season.
