No fish caught. Fished the first roadside swim from 7am to 10am then had to bring my fishing partner back home to Cambridge as was feeling poorly. I had one violent take about 8am only to be snapped off on a snag about 1/3 the way out. Used swim feeder pellets. River conditions good. Saw lots of Buzzards, Ravens, Hobby and quite a few Kingfishers.
A great venue, will be back.

Arrived at dawn and once again I headed to the lower pool on the road bank. Fished elips pellet hookbait with groundbait feeder tactics about a 1/3 across and apart from a slow start, from 10.45 onwards I had regular bites all day until I packed away at 7.40pm. Lost one barbel and one chub as well so 14 bites from one swim while my companion had one of each as well. So a good day, I'll be back!

Nice venue, weather was mild and overcast. River level was falling after recent rain. Fished the right bank. All fish came to pellet feeder tactics.

River low and clear as expected although did rise by around a foot in afternoon which seemed to coincide with more bites. Single Barbel of 6lb from lower pool plus 4 Chub with a further 5 Chub to pool in middle of beat all fell to meat bait either rolled or ledgered.

A bit disappointed with the fishery here. River very shallow. Looking off the bridge no real signs of fish. Fished the left bank in a deeper pool and landed 1 chub of 3lbs on bread flake early in the day, fished till 5pm as we had to drive back to London. No other bites forthcoming and the weather took a turn for the worse with driving rain and blustery winds. My friend blanked. Overall a bit of shame. Still we'll both be back soon to try some of the other beats, on this beautiful river.

River very low. Barely 2 viable swims. Maybe more options if river level a couple of feet higher. Very limited beat for 2 anglers. Ideally should be only one. Pellet feeder method used.

We arrived at around 9.30am to find river very low and clear, as expected and knew it was going to be hard going in the bright sunshine. Tactics for the day were to start off rolling meat, we started at the bottom of the nearside bank and worked our way up. No touches at all on the meat so we switched to ledgering meat and pellet feeder with pellet hookbait until lunch. Still not even a nibble up until 1pm. In the afternoon I chose to fish the bottom pool and N fished half way up the nearside also in some deeper water where we thought the fish may be hiding. We started to get some knocks from Chub but no fish on the bank until about 3.30pm. Adding an imitation red maggot as a hair stop brought instant results with Neil landing 2 successive chub. It wasn't until 5.30pm when the bottom pool 'came to life' and my rod tip was motionless no more. First fish for me was a welcome 6 1/2lb Barbel followed by several chub. This was our first trip to the Wye and even though the fishing was slow the environment made up for it. We will be back :-)

An overcast day with heavy rain later in the afternoon. Nine fish in total. Seven Chub between 2 and 4.5lb, and two smashing Barbel later in the afternoon, best 9lb. Fished with pellet and meat. All fish on pellet bar one. A fairly small beat, river fairly low, I'd estimate only about 2/3 feet in most places, but a number of deep holes. Overall a great day's fishing.
