I didn't get down to the bank until 18:30. I managed just under a couple of hours, but with limited time headed to the pebbled beach area, and waded out into the middle trotting long and short runs. Bait of choice 8mm halibut pellet and small cubes of spam.

Trotting of a feed of hemp, pellet, and small cubed meat.

No luck this time but enjoyed the experience.

No access to maggots with work in the day at present, but can see from the fry that the were enjoying there free meal/feed

An evening session, sinker and trotting where possible. No takes on meat, one strike on bread but no hook. River was low on most pegs. Lots of surface feeding activity around 7.30pm but on the opposite bank where flow was faster.

2.5 hrs of rolling meat below shallows produced nothing, not a pluck!

Fished for about an hour after checking out numerous swims for a clear spot, copious amount of weed covering the river bed & constant weed coming down
Covering bait & pulling it out of position.
Far from ideal! Shame as this is my favourite beat but conditions against me. Bring on the rain,& lots of it

Trotted meat for a few hours into dusk - no sign of any fish (no bites or fish activity observed).

Very low water and a lot of algae to contend with (even in the clearer runs, every cast came back with algae/weed on the line). Slack areas had several inches of it on the river bed. Waders pretty much essential when the river is at this level to access fishable areas. Steep banks for the most part which is fine in the dry, though if the ground was wet I’d want to have a spike and a rope with me. Either way, best avoided for those with limited mobility. Would like to return in Autumn when the level is up and weed has died off.

Just the Eels biting today. Beautiful day relaxing by the river bank though! River was low and clear.
