My first barbel, my son’s PB Chub an eel on a cloudy day on the Wye. Not too many canoes and kayaks today so really secluded.

Fished for a couple of hours in the morning on the way to Ross. One bite one Barbel but it was my first Wye double and worth waiting for, caught on double 8mm pellet and PVA bag.

Fished the woodland beats for an evening. Access ok but limited, difficult casting with tree canopy so close. 2 eels sum of the efforts. Kingfisher flying past and salmon jumping being the highlights....

River in reasonable condition and some great quality chub up to 5lb 4oz and one barbel caught on an afternoon and evening session on feeder and pellet/boilie. Best time was 5-7pm.

A good day rolling meat throughout the fishery, 4 Barbel from 1lb to just under the magical 10lb mark. Surprisingly not a single chub........ but the obligatory eel when using meat.

Well you don't usually see Kingfishers while at work so to see two was a bonus. Sadly the Kingfishers were more numerous than the fish; again!

Low water and no action forced us downriver from usual spot not far from steps but no joy in the deeper faster run either.
