I had countless rises to Tups Indispensable - all small fish and couldn't get them to take the fly or at least the hook. I had a similar experience but hooked 4 fish recently using a small gnat type but with white on it to make it visible.

My second rod was fishing on a stream for the first time and caught his first grayling - tiny but they call count and one more than me using a small Klinkhammer.

Access below the bridge was ok and above the bridge through head high shrubbery and nettles involved a wade down to the bridge and the fished upstream.

Just need to work out how to hook the little blighters.

This beat holds a lot of good fish, numerous pools that all seemed to hold decent sized grayling. only problem is its impossible to reach a lot of the water as its so overgrown. I got lost at one point trying to get through the 8ft high Himalayan balsam, Still, the bits you can get to are really productive.

In the description is mentions 1.5 miles of River, however a lot of the river is behind barbed wire fences and most of the banks are over grown making access very difficult - once you eventually find an entry point to the river you then have a few 100 yards of fishing before having to exit eithe due to silt or too deep to wade or both, exit through the undergrowth to find another entry point. This beat is so neglected and might better fished in the Winter or after and "agent orange" raid - we did manage to catch a few graying, not tront caught or seen. Did not fish the upper part through the woods as I left my machette at home - not sure I will be back. 8 Grayling caught mostly on PTN's

Great to be back on the local stretch for an evening session. The OOS grayling were out in force and hard to avoid catching, especially in the bridge section. Managed two hefty trout though, one from right under the footbridge comfortably nudging over 1lb and fought like a demon. Cheers WUF.

A lovely beat with nice fish seen. Easy wading for the most part, except in the forest section where parts were a little tricky. Couldn't tempt any to bite at all.
