4 takes for my guest, 2 for me but nothing to the net (one snapped my line-reminder to self- don't be lazy, change the leader when knotted!). All just upstream from the hut. Would like to get downstream of the rocks but it would take a bit of time with a hook. Can you acces the bottom of the beat from the road?

Another slow start due to temperature and wind (probably) Once the sun came out nothing much changed!
However rescued by two 12” trout caught on dry and 2 larger Grayling caught high-sticking head of top pool.

Difficult day very bright and low river, manage to hook up a a trout which got off .A W from Ledbury caught a decent size shad , celebrating his first with Wye and Usk this season stripped off(fell in!! the rocks are very slippery to his defence) undeterred he was back fishing in the river with fresh trouser rolled up and crocs on.
I did manage to get to the bottom of the beat but soon left when there was a gust of water maybe a foot high appeared and then again ,must be the outlet from the water treatment plant not pleasant! .we left 3.45pm back to the Walwyn arms for some liquid refreshment another great day for two old men.

Warm bright day, river a little higher due to recent and much needed rain. Caught 3 grayling and 2 wbt off the top before lunch. Beautifully conditioned fish, 10" - 15", all taken with an F-fly and all returned safely. Fish completely switched off after lunch, but I stubbornly persevered with dries, for no other reason than this is the method I love. Great beat, look forward to returning next year.
