River low due to lack of rain so quite a tough days fishing.
Plenty of swim options and nice to see the pathways into the swims freshly strimmed.
Many thanks to the landowner and The Wye & Usk Foundation for a enjoyable days fishing.

Low, but pretty fished top end, had pb chub 6 lb , plenty of silver tourists around as well , good to see.

First time on this beat, a hard day but it worth the visit, good swim clearance which was good.

Low clear river, bright conditions. Barbel up to 9.4, caught from 2 swims towards upper end of beat. Around 15 decent chub up to 5.4, rest chublets. One eel. Feeder tactics with boilie, paste or pellet produced. Plenty of swims to go out, well cleared. Lower end of beat limited a little by anglers on the far bank, most fish were caught further upstream though. Good opening day!

My first 3 Barbel ever between 5 and 9lbs, overcast chilly day, light breeze from the south. Feeder fished hemp and halibut groundbait with halibut pellets mixed in and either Halibut or Spicy sausage pellets or luncheon meat on a hair rig fished approx 10yds out from the bank near the bottom of the beat.

Fishing a little slow due to easterly/high pressure but great being on the river for the day.
