Fantastic day on the bank, but the fishing was hard. The river was rising fast and was racing through. Managed to eek out two beautiful 5lb chub on meat. Thank you W&UF.

Second day of our trip on a new beat and once again river levels very high and challenging. managed a chub each. Fished the bottom two fields which im sure are lovely during normal conditions. Nice beat. Look forward to a return visit in hopefully better conditions.

With access proving difficult by the orchard and so ruling out the upstream section we settled for the middle field. The river was reasonably low and clear and the bright sunny day didn't bode well and so it proved. We started in two swims in the upper section of the field but without a bite moved down and found two more swims within the trees. With the light fading one barbel around 7lb or so obliged to a double 8mm halibut pellet and that was the only bite of the day.
