Had the most wonderful day's fishing but it was so hot during the heat of the day and all fish to early morning and late afternoon/early evening. Persisted with pellet (probably for too long), eventually giving up and trying rolling meat to no avail. Then tried rolling cheese and caught all fish on this method even the barbel. Biggest chub 5lb, and biggest barbel 11lb.

All fish caught using the feeder with a variety of baits but the most successful was paste wrapped Ocean Pride squabs. All in all a great final day of the season on a wonderful beat. Thanks WUF.

River was high but a good colour. However, fish were either not feeding or hard to find. Tried several swims and returned to first choice swim and caught at dusk.

Final day so determined to stick it out for a barbel. River dropped again and clearing. Returned to one of the swims I had fished previously and fished a small feeder with hemp and pellets with no other feed. After about 1 1/2 hrs rod wrapped round and a 6lb+ barbel, object achieved and I'm well happy.
Moved a number of times again, but no other fish until 18.00 when I had a 2lb chub. Time to go home.
I really enjoyed my 3 days at Sugwas and hope to return later this year. The river looked in excellent condition, and I thought I'd have more, but that's fishing!

River dropped approx 10 - 12 inchs and clearing, looked very promising. Began fishing approx 11.00, baiting a number of swims with barbel in mind. By 16.30 I had no action despite moving a couple of times.
Decided a change of tactics was required to save another blank so I went freeline/rolling lumps of meat with chub in mind. This resulted in one chub 3lb+ and two 5lb+. returned to baited swim, but no further action. Very pleased.

Arrived approx 10.00 from home. The river was up and coloured, but appeared to be dropping. Spent first couple of hours walking the stretch and decided to pick one swim and adopt a 'bait and wait' approach.
After visiting my accommodation (Portway Inn, approx 10min's drive. Very nice pub with good food.) Returned around 14.00 and fished through until 18.00. No action until last knocking's when I missed a rattle on the rod top (small chub?).

Rearly enjoyed this venue even though the conditions were challenging. Had to fish the near bank but eventually found a few fish.

River had finded down to just above normal level and was surprisingly clear. This was our first visit to Sugwas Court, what a lovely stretch with some very interesting features. What we hadn't reckoned on was the treacherous nature of the banks after the previous weeks floods.
Rolling meat under near bank fallen trees produced a Chub of 4-5lb with two other similar lost. Great day was had, thanks.

After the previous weeks flood levels the river was gin clear and had finded down to just above normal. One thing we had not bargained for was the treacherous nature of much of the bank was left after flooding. We did however have a great day although only one Chub of 4 - 1/2lb was caught, this was on rolling meat close to a fallen tree. A wonderful beat, will re-book next season.
