Fished the waggler using maggot and once the canoes had departed caught steadily throughout the day. River levels had dropped nicely from earlier in the week and I had an enjoyable days fishing catching small chub.

Fished from first light to noon. A tough morning. 3oz feeders no longer holding bottom so forced to fish the crease about four rod lengths out. 2 chub around 3.5lbs and a cheeky little minnow. The banks are very slippery so be warned!

Had a great day guiding Ron on the river. He had some excellent barbel to 9lbs 2oz which is a new PB Wye barbel. Also caught was a 6lbs 3oz chub which was quite empty and would be much larger when it fills out later in the year. 3 eels all lip hooked, fought well in the strong flow.
The river was up and flowing well. Great to see the river like this.

A tricky day. The high river conditions cut off the lower stretch of Wyebank that I was hoping to access so I fished peg one and the river mouth from after lunch instead. Lighter float tackle and worm brought a chublet and dace a chuck, nothing on the pellet feeder until dusk when one 4lb chub made a welcome appearance.

Caught 11 barbel to 7lbs 2oz and 4 chub on Thursday. Great days fishing. After the rain on Thursday, the river was just right first thing Friday and a 7lbs 14oz barbel and a few chub were caught. Then the river rose very fast and we had to pack up at 4.30pm as the foot path became flooded. Much debris coming down and difficult to hold in the slack in the bottom swim on Wyebanks.

Fished on the last peg all day. Met the owner who was very pleasant and helpful. Found the fish mid afternoon. Very good day. River had come up a few inches.

Fished dawn til dusk with all fish coming at either the beginning or end of the day when the sun wasn't directly on the water. The eight hours between the two periods of activity were hard work! All fish, including a small dace (?), were caught using the feeder with either pellets or dumbbell boilies. The river was no lower than it was when I last fished Wyebank back in early July but there was a lot more loose weed and debris running through the swim that kept catching on our lines. There were also a lot of canoes/kayaks between 12pm (after the rain stopped) and 4pm. All fish were small but pristine, the largest being just shy of 3lb.
