nice fast water but why did i book on a sunday as everyone was launching(and congregating) from all the access points on the beat. loads and loads of canoes.could haved splashed down to the downstream end but a very rocky splash with tackle.
Stayed near the island in a lovely looking swim but only dace and chublets plus a trout on float fished corn and meat.
Feeder draped in blanket weed every cast. Easy steps down to the rocky shore from the downstream car parkm with the honesty box - bargain at £1.
nice beat but next time ill book mid week.

5am to 9:30.
Managed 2 good chub both getting on for 5lb on trotted meat. Briefly connected to two other good fish. Otherwise struggled on a usually productive beat, but that’s fishing!
River painfully low but a little cooler than of late.

Only fished a few hours… arrived later than planned, first hour was really good lots of fish activity, then as swarms of swimmers and conoers and party’s turned up I couldn’t bare stand all the noise and disruption.

The river looked beautiful, only 2 feet deep! But could see plenty of trout in there and smaller chub. Plenty of oxygen in this turbulent water.

There is no access to most the beat without wading, I wasn’t expecting this. I don’t know how you could access it when the water is higher.

The best boundaries were not clear, I just kept moving further away from the noise of party’s / summer holidays.

Loads of blanket weed!!!! Swamping everything, every cast, made it quite an unpleasant experience.
